Stephen Bellum, Ph.D., Esq.
Stephen Bellum utilizes the experience of his multifaceted biomedical researcher career to
provide clients with creative approaches for meeting their intellectual property objectives in the
biological, biotech, and pharmaceutical arts. His practice includes patent prosecution, patent portfolio
management, and patentability opinion work. Stephen’s legal career was preceded by over a decade of
post‐graduate experience as a biomedical researcher, during which he focused on pulmonary fibrosis,
angiogenesis, and regenerative medicine. Stephen is a graduate of Clemson University (BS, microbiology
& immunology) and the Medical University of South Carolina (Ph.D., microbiology & immunology), as
well as the Francis King Carey School of Law at the University of Maryland, Baltimore (JD, 2011). Prior to
joining J.A. Lindeman & Co., Stephen was a student associate at Finnegan, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner.
